Partners Program Support
We support volunteer driver programs and other community transportation initiatives. PATH is committed to bridging gaps in current public transportation service coverage across Virginia’s Region 10, especially in rural areas. One of the key ways we address this need is by supporting volunteer driver programs that enhance and expand transportation services, especially for older adults and individuals with disabilities. PATH’s staff assist with ride scheduling, marketing, and administrative tasks. Currently, PATH collaborates with two volunteer driver programs: Cville Village in Charlottesville and Here To Stay Wintergreen in Nellysford.
PATH offers organizational and substantive assistance for groups of volunteers which would like to establish new formalized volunteer driver programs by:
- Providing know-how and program development guidance,
- Staff and marketing assistance,
- Scheduling software access,
- Office support,
- Guidance on acquiring material and financial resources.
Path can partner with organizations to acquire vehicles and assist with operating expenses to provide transportation for older adults and people with disabilities that is also open to the public.
If you are part of an organization interested in starting a volunteer driver program or need assistance with an existing one, reach out to us today!
