About PATH helpline

PATH, Partnership for Accessible Transportation Help, is a free transportation information and referral service open to the public. PATH assists anyone with inquiries about local transportation, with a focus on helping older adults and people with disabilities find transportation options when they are unable to drive.

PATH serves Region 10, including the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle, Greene, Fluvanna, Louisa, and Nelson counties.

Where can I ride?

PATH covers Region 10, the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, and Fluvanna counties. We may be able to help you find a ride outside of Region 10. Give us a call and share your transportation needs.

Who Can Ride?

Everyone can ride! This program is for anyone with questions about local transportation, focusing on helping older adults and people with disabilities find rides. We have interpreter services and materials in Spanish.

How Does PATH Work?

PATH collaborates with existing transportation services to unify all public transportation systems into a central information hub. The goal is to develop a transportation network and promote ongoing collaboration among stakeholders.

Transportation Resources

CAT

Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) Public transportation in the City of Charlottesville and portions of urban Albemarle County. All CAT buses are wheelchair-lift equipped and accessible to persons with disabilities. Fares are free through June 30, 2026.

UTS

University Transit System and University Transit Service (UTS) are fare-free transit services committed to providing safe, reliable, efficient, service to University of Virginia students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

JAUNT

Jaunt provides curb-to-curb demand-response service in Buckingham, Fluvanna, Louisa, Greene, Nelson, and rural Albemarle counties. It also provides ADA paratransit service in Charlottesville and Albemarle. To use Jaunt's ADA Paratransit Service, you must be pre-approved by a representative from CAT. This service is currently fare-free.

MICRO CAT

MicroCAT is a fare-free, on-demand public rideshare service that offers convenient, affordable rides in Pantops and the US-29 Corridor area. Book a shared ride from your phone and get picked up in a sleek, comfortable vehicle. Whether you're commuting, running errands, or need to get somewhere, you can do so without breaking the bank.
