New Virginia Breeze Route Connects Charlottesville to Virginia Beach

The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) has announced that tickets are now on sale for the Tidewater Current, a new Virginia Breeze intercity bus route launching April 20.

This new east–west route will connect Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads with Richmond, Charlottesville, and Shenandoah Valley locations, making travel across the Commonwealth easier and more accessible.

The Tidewater Current is the fifth addition to the Virginia Breeze Bus Lines network and the fourth route launched within the past six years. The route will serve 10 cities and 5 counties, with key stops including Richmond International Airport, Richmond Main Street Station, Charlottesville (Scott Stadium), Staunton, and Harrisonburg.

Like all Virginia Breeze services, buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts and offer ample luggage space, ensuring accessible and comfortable travel for all riders.

The new Tidewater Current route includes stops at:

  • Virginia Beach Convention Center
  • Norfolk – Military Highway Park & Ride
  • Newport News – Newport News Transportation Center
  • Williamsburg – Williamsburg Transportation Center
  • New Kent – Colonial Downs / Rosie’s Gaming Emporium
  • Richmond International Airport
  • Richmond Main Street Station
  • Charlottesville – Scott Stadium
  • Staunton – Crossing Way Park & Ride
  • Harrisonburg – Godwin Transit Center
