Volunteer Driver Programs

Region 10 offers also other ways to travel beyond public transit services. One of the available options are Volunteer Driver Programs (VDP) which are community-based transportation services where volunteers use their own vehicles or program-provided vehicles to help individuals who have difficulty accessing transportation. These programs typically serve seniors, individuals with disabilities, low-income residents, or those living in rural areas with limited public transit options.

Currently, in Region 10 there are 2 senior communities offering organized volunteer driver services. These services are not open to the public. Person has to become a member of a such community to be given a ride by a volunteer driver.
