Seniors Invited to Explore Public Transit Through Hands-On Workshops

PATH, in collaboration with Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT) and The Center at Belvedere, invites all older adults to attend the upcoming Travel Training Workshops.

These interactive sessions provide comprehensive information on using public transit and an overview of transportation services available to residents of Charlottesville and the surrounding counties. Participants will learn about CAT fixed-route buses, MicroCAT, Jaunt services, trip planning, fare payment options, and other local transportation resources.

A unique feature of the workshops is a guided transit trip that allows participants to put their new knowledge into practice. Attendees ride together on a CAT bus to the Downtown Transit Station and return to The Center at Belvedere, gaining firsthand experience in navigating the local transit system in a supportive environment.

Upcoming workshops are scheduled for:
  • June 23, 2026, from 12:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
  • July 21, 2026, from 9:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
  • August 27, 2026, from 1:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

All workshops will be held at The Center at Belvedere, 540 Belvedere Boulevard, Charlottesville. Admission is FREE

Whether you are new to the Charlottesville area, interested in learning about transportation options, or considering reducing your reliance on driving, these workshops are an excellent introduction to public transit and community transportation services in the region.
