On Thursday, April 10th, the Yancey Community Center in Esmont hosted a Transportation Solutions Workshop presented by PATH in partnership with the Jefferson Area Board for Aging (JABA).
This informative event spotlighted transportation services offered by Jaunt, with particular emphasis on options available for residents of Esmont, Scottsville, and South Albemarle. Attendees gained valuable insights into how to book rides, navigate service zones, and make the most of accessibility-friendly features aimed at enhancing their travel experience. Presenters also shared tips for getting to Charlottesville and other nearby areas within Albemarle County.
Beyond Jaunt, the workshop also introduced additional public transit options, including Charlottesville Area Transit (CAT), MicroCAT, University Transit Service (UTS), and Afton Express. The goal of the session was to empower community members with the knowledge and confidence to use local transportation services for everyday activities—whether it’s attending medical appointments, running errands, or staying connected with others.
