PATH Engaging With Local Communities

Recently, PATH had the pleasure of participating in a variety of community activities focused on improving access to local transportation options and helping residents build confidence in using public transit services.

PATH and Jaunt recently partnered to bring hands-on travel training to students at Fluvanna County High School, helping young people in the school’s special education program develop real-world skills for independent transportation. Through interactive lessons, students learned how to create rider accounts, schedule rides by phone, and use Jaunt services firsthand. The training helped participants gain confidence and familiarity with using public transportation independently.

PATH also participated in the Fluvanna Lunch and Learn session, a bimonthly webinar series designed to connect participants with local organizations, community resources, and important regional initiatives.

In addition, PATH took part in the 2026 How-To Festival organized by the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library, where community members had an opportunity to learn more about transportation resources available throughout the region.

PATH also hosted two transportation workshops for adult students at the Piedmont Virginia Community College Adult & Career Education Center. The workshops provided a comprehensive overview of local transportation services available to residents of the Charlottesville area, including public transit, mobility resources, and transportation assistance options.
